If
you are like most Brazilians, probably you don't sleep 8 hours a night.
But if you also feel constantly tired, headache without obvious reason
or high blood pressure, you may have a more serious problem.
That's
because all these symptoms can be results of snoring, which, in turn,
is the most common symptom of a serious health problem:
obstructive
sleep apnea although most people believe that snoring is a small
disturbance, research shows that it can be dangerous to your health.
That's because, for more than 18 million Americans, he is related to
obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). People who suffer from OSAS PATIENTS stop
breathing repeatedly and without knowing at night due to a partial or
total obstruction in your airway. This occurs when the muscles of the
jaw, throat and tongue relax, blocking the Airways used to breathe. The
lack of oxygen that results can last for a minute or so and occurs
hundreds of times a night. Fortunately, most people wake up when a
partial or complete obstruction occurs, but it can leave you feeling
very tired. OSAs may be linked to a number of health problems,
including:
Reflux
Frequent nocturnal urination
Memory loss
Stroke
Depression
Diabetes
Heart attack
Persons over the age of 35 years are at greater risk.
The
diagnosis and treatment of OSA can be expensive and are not always
covered by health plans. A sleep clinic will require a nocturnal visit
(up to $ 5,000). The doctors then analyze the data and prescribe a
different treatment. These may require that you use CPAP devices
uncomfortable that force the air through your nose and mouth while you
sleep to keep your Airways open and may even include a painful surgery.
Fortunately,
there is now a comfortable treatment option, much cheaper and less
invasive surgery available. A recent case study published by the
Division of medicine Sno Eastern Virginia Medical School in the journal
of Clinical Sleep Medicine concludes that use a single track on the Chin
while you sleep can be an efficient treatment for OSA.
The track must be used on the Chin and tied behind the head to hold the mouth closed!
simple!
